CLEAN SEA's approches

Image
Clean Sea A voluntary initiative to curb off plastic and non-degradable debris on seashore Clean Sea is an initiative that started to keep beaches of Visakhapatnam free from all kinds of non-biodegradable waste. we focus on plastic waste that is being dumped in the ocean which reaches the seashore, collects them and takes it to municipal treatment plants. We aim to engage people of all ages in Visakhapatnam to participate in beach clean up activities that we take up on a daily basis or mostly during weekends. We have noticed that the root cause for the damage being caused to the sea is the sewage waste that is left untreated before disposing into the ocean. Also single-use plastic bottles, plastic carry bags, and styrofoam are creating massive destruction on the shore. CLEAN SEA's approches Our idea is to take this issue of improper sewage management and drainage system to the notice of government officials and discuss our action plan to curb the non-degradable ...

CALL TO CHECK PLASTIC POLLUTION

OCEAN PLASTIC: NEED TO CHECK PLASTIC POLLUTION Plastic has devastating effects on the marine ecosystem and we are now aware that plastic pollution is growing big. But it is actually much bigger than we think. We need to know how much plastic reaches the water bodies and its adverse effects on marine life. Why? Because we are responsible for the killer polymers in oceans by our careless and thoughtless disposal of non-degradable trash into it. What are the statistics on Plastic Pollution? According to the United Nations stats on plastic waste, ●       About 300 million tons of plastic waste is produced every year, which is approximately equal to the weight of entire human population. ●       More than 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic is produced since the 1950s and about 60% of it has ended up polluting the environment. ●        Every year for about 8 million tons of plastic is reaching the world's oceans...

We are now 50+ Volunteers 🎇🎈🎉

I humbly announce that 'we are now 50+ volunteers', signed-up for the cause.🎇🎈🎉 I am grateful for each and everyone who has contributed to the cause. Hope we shall grow exponentially to march towards our common goal " Clean Sea ".

All are asking about date and time??

Yet be discussed.... I would like to refer on weekends Let's say this weekend (24th and/or 25th). But, this does not mean that we are limiting to these only. We have tons of plastic and non-degradable debris. We can work on it daily, like an hour or two a day, based on our convenience and reachability. P.S: I am ready to do everyday. Auspicious Festival and Unfortunate Hazardous Wastes.

Image
I would like to make a notable point in this post. India is a culturally rich nation with a multitude of festivals, celebrated around the year. Among them, Vinayak Chaturthi (also known as Ganesh Puja) could be ranked most auspicious. We offer our prayers and numerous offerings.  As a farewell to the festive, we release our offering along with 'immortal' figurines of Ganesha into water bodies. Even though the festival season is auspicious, unfortunately, it brings hazardous wastes. The following videos would give a glimpse of the harm we are doing.

We are a Voluntary Group

I wish to form a voluntary group to motivate, organize and exercise the "Clean Sea" program. I would like to invite like-minded and self-motivated volunteers to clean the beaches in Vizag, by picking up the plastic and non-degradable trash and then responsibly dispatching them to city municipal corporation for disposal. I have a few crude ideas on how to go ahead. I would like to discuss and gather valuable suggestions from the volunteer community and government officials related. I am anticipating to take a step for a good cause.... Would you like to join me !?! kindly join @  CleanSea-FreeWill

We are well aware of the devastating effects of plastic pollution happening, around us. It has a much greater impact on the marine ecosystem. Every day countless marine-beings are brutally harmed by the plastic and non-degradable debris. The following links would be helpful to get an in-depth overview of the impacts of plastic pollution. Hi everyone,

Hi everyone, One evening, I went out for a ride on the seashore to relive my stress by the cool sea breeze. But, it didn't take much longer to feel bad. I have noticed chunks of plastic floating on the sea and gushing into the rock crevices by the waves. I would like to "Clean Sea". Would You like to join me !?!
